Everyone is different. If someone wants to buy a vehicle and beat the Hell out of it, that is their deal. It's their money. More power to them. With that being said, I don't understand why you'd intentionally neglect your vehicle...or any other item that you spent your hard-earned cash to purchase. My Camaro is a weekend toy. I have a 2013 Cruze as my DD and I take care of that little car as if it were my Camaro. Just because it's my DD, that doesn't mean I'm going to treat it any different. I suppose I just value my money more than some.

Trying keep a car clean out here is futile. You'll have a fine coat of dust the moment the wind kicks up. That said, this is my DD, so nicks and dings are just part of life. I do generally take care of my cars though, and any major damage gets repaired (none so far save a windsheild thankfully). I don’t know how anyone can be happy driving around a thrashed rotted PoS.

I see it everyday in my job. Cars have become disposable to people. They don't think of a car in the terms of "it cost me $60k" anymore it's more "it costs me $400/month" I work on some very nice cars that are treated like a garbage bin. Cars are worlds ahead on reliability and longevity than they ever used to be but the new vehicle owner treats it like a right and not a privilege. The old cars were lucky to have an engine or trans make it to 60k miles, I have personally worked on a lot of 200K plus vehicle with original engines/transmissions because people take care of them. I have worked on a duramax that has over 750k miles on original engine and trans because the owner repairs anything that fails and regularly services fluids and wear items. It looks like hell though, he uses it to haul heavy equipment and drill pipe across the country. Point being, we've lost the appreciation for a vehicle as a mode of transportation and gained a weak reasoning of having to have the prettiest new car on the block. |

I hate to say it but the bottom line is our cars are just Camaros. They're not rare, exotic, etc. There are countless Camaros from ALL generations that are beat up and driven hard. Beat up 5th gens will be more common as the years go on...

Be careful what you speak of, there are a lot of fragile egos here that would condemn you for telling them their mass produced vehicle is anything but a special gem.

It may be just a Camaro, but it's my Camaro. And, as far as I know, they ain't making any new 5th gens anymore. I'm trying to keep mine as pristine as possible. I don't really like the styling of the 6th gens. Maybe the 7th gen will look better.
