Looked at the set on my car and the set I am getting ready to put on my car Thursday. Have the same lines. They are mold marks.

I had the same lines and had the same concern when I took delivery. Friend of mine that manages a tire store told me they were normal partition lines.

If you do a prolonged burn out..it will fix the cracks..it melts them back together. Seriously though..I have driven my car in 30ish degree weather and no issues so far.

The car was delivered durning an ice storm just after that really cold week up in the great lakes region. The car came from MI and was delivered in NY so depending on the route taken it could be 7-8 hrs of drive time or 4-6 hours on the back of an open trailer. The ambient air temp was around 0 with the wind chill around -30 so if the truck was moving at say 60-65 mph that would put the wind chill around -45 to -55.

Someone at GM made a mistake letting the car go.

I don't think they're cracks. But if your garage isn't heated it will get cold in there. I would at the every least store the car on carpet with a vapour barrier underneath. I used to do that with my Ferrari for years and never had any problems. I'm fortunate enough to have a heated garage now, so just a vapour barrier so the car doesn't sit in any moisture.

Just for fun call Tirerack and ask if there warehouse is heated for these type tires and if they are transported in a heated trailer.

or when UPS delivery's them and they sit on your front porch all day and its 30 out.

Thanks. I've 1" thick rubber under each of the tires. I stored my 5th gen ZL1 that way with no issues. A heated garage would be great!
