Need more information.
Only thing that can be said with your description, is when your igniting, either too much air or too little fuel.

is it "running lean"? or does it have a 'system too lean' code.

Mine has done both. Got a code that it was running rich, serviced it, a few months later got a lean code lol. No engine mods (yet).

hey zzsteve. when i was emailing with matt i believe was his name? i could be totally wrong he did say he was having a fuel trim issue with my car when tuning. could that still be an issue?

Generally, that would indicate either a vacuum leak, or a post-MAF sensor leak of some sort (loose hose clamp, PCV fitting broken, MAF sensor missing an O-ring ETC)
