Yeah! Why didn't they just do that???
I'm guessing that this sort of design compromises airflow. Only reason I can think of to go with "fingers" instead of "fangs". If we were to find out later when performance details are released that the larger grill area and flowtie adds a few hp and improves performance, would the refresh suddenly become more attractive to anybody?

Literally all you did was take away some air flow to the brake ducts.

The flowtie moved up helps looks but I bet even if it were moved down to original position it would look good with the painted stripe.

I don’t mind the fangs. The bow tie location is just trash, and if that little bit of air flow is desperately needed, then the fascia design should have been scrapped from the beginning.

Was thinking the same thing myself.

It certainly would to me especially in the area of brake cooling inlets. Perhaps "as is" for 1LE trim where black belt and fangs would look very good imo with the other black trim. Body color belt and fingers for std SS?
But this might be reaching too far...

If this "flow-tie" is so critical for air-flow and cooling, what happens when you install a front license plate and frame?...What are the factory specs, cooling and performance loss with a front license install??

My guess is zero impact from any license plate install or flow-tie removal.....

So we lost our freaking minds over the 5th Gen tail light change. Now it's the bowtie and black grill so much that we've completely lost sight of all the good stuff like the hood, wheels and the bad Ass A10.

I personally like to recognize a refresh change on the street and the taillights did that on the 5th gen and it will be the same here whether it's your cup of tea or not.

This is also by far the best looking LT model ever IMO, especially the I4 ILE. All the old LT cars were a little blah for me.

Am guessing the design that Chevrolet rolled out with is to make an obvious in your face change for those that said the 5th & 6th gen look the same. While enthusiasts (like most at this forum) know the differences between them, the avg buyer or cross shopper may not.

Exactly. I don't know how many times I've had people tell me they didn't know/couldn't the difference. Not that I care. I know the difference.

I was saying it was the worst color.

The point was looks are subjective. Don't read too much into it. I was just being an ass.

My coin has HBM on heads, NGM on tails and I could flip that coin all day. I wound up with a Fifty (NGM). Red Hot would be my 3rd.
