I'm sure most people know the regular plates take a little while so if you are ordering the black plates right away I'm sure you can get away with it a while. If you get pulled over I think it comes down to what you did to get pulled, the cop and how anal/bored they are in your city lol. I don't think you'll get pulled over just for that in my opinion. The CA DMV site says:

Just from experience, you can be pulled over simply for the missing plates. I've been around a couple cops the past few days, and my front plate is completely off, and my rear plate simply says the name of my buddy's customs shop. No hassle as of yet even with a unit pulling up right behind me (thank the chebby gods for the Dual Mode Exhaust :P, help's hide my missing secondary cats fairly well haha)

Side note, and a lot of people don't know this yet, careful where you park too. If the area is frequented by a meter maid, they too can give you a ticket for no plates. All they do is run the VIN and then they're free to cite you for missing the front or both. The past few times I simply paid and didn't correct, and it went through since I used the online service. However with a LAPD or CHP ticket, you have to actually get the ticket signed off.


Since we're on the subject of plates, does anyone make a tow hitch plate bracket for our gen 6's? I figured out how to pull off my grill section and have seen it done on a few cars from different brands.

On their way, my first choice was denied, but 2nd one should be accepted. The wait is Ridiculous. Took 2 months to find out that my 1st choice was denied, now im on my 2nd month for the 2nd ones. Hopefully 1 more month.
