I think the gt500 looks great, they really hot the mark. Unfortunately I don't it's going to either better than the Dodge down the strip or better than the Camaro around the track, still a bad ass car.

Back to the GT500. It would be a Camaro enthusiasts dream if Chevy dropped the LT5 in a ZL1 to steal some of this cars thunder. I'll always remember when they announced the 5th gen ZL1 numbers and Ford immediately let everyone know the GT500 would surpass it. I realize the ZL1 is the better overall car but the 2013 GT500 sure made some headlines and I'd like to see some payback.

So GM if you're listening... the day Ford releases the numbers (weight will probably be the most important for this car) you let the internet know the Camaro is getting the LT5. Also release a commercial that has Megan Fox in it... she pulls up next to a brand new GT500 that still has the dealer markup on the window and surprisingly says "Oh you got the GT500?". The guy hangs his head and says "Yeah, I guess I did". Then she screams off in her badass LT5 Camaro. Not too much to ask right.
So much this. These are HP wars with Pony Cars - yes I like that the Alpha platform is the best of the 3 for handling, but is it too much to ask to not be out-horsepowered by 100+ from Mopar and Ford.

So yes GM, it's time to give the Camaro the big HP LT5 to compete with the Redeye and GT500 in a straight line.

Reviews are out this morning. VERY impressive car. Still waiting to see lap times, but reviewers are saying it's easy to drive and well balanced. Great job Ford!

Pretty obvious that without the LT5, Camaro has no answer (in a straight line) for the GT500.

Looks like it is almost as good as the Dodge down the strip and probably almost as good as the Camaro around the track... so the best all around car between the three of them.

Now about that ADM

A little over 70K base. As tested by some mags well into the 90s. Amazing. The word bargain being thrown out all over the place. I guess it's all relative.

I think we need to see some lap times. Most of the reviews so far have said it handles great and doesn't feel that heavy.

Personally if it was my money I would still rather spend it on a C8 than a top dog Mustang/Camaro/Challenger

That was just one particular one and we don't know if it was really stock or not, tires etc....

Motortrend could only get mid low 11s out of it with one 11.12 and none at the 133 mph mark but most in the upper 120s. That honestly seems more realistic with what the cars will be running, mid to low 11s.

Not impressed. Half a second slower to 60 and marginally quicker in the 1/4 than a cheaper, 265 less HP Corvette.

I believe the 10.6 1/4 mile times all day long. Guys on here have been habitually running 11.5 1/4's in their BONE STOCK 5th Gen ZL1's for years. Check the fast lists. The GT500 is obviously a lot newer, a lot more advanced, packs a DCT and has 760hp instead of 580hp.

10.6 BONE STOCK is definitely doable.

The 10.6 is almost certainly legit BUT it was done by Evan Smith who is always 2 or 3 tenths faster than mere mortals. No regular person is going to come close to that time.

I think them all being auto and having advanced launch control should make fast times very attainable
