Vararam VR-DRX or Rotofab CAI

The prices are about the same. Which one would be the better choice for performance. I have an LS3 M6 with a Solo axle-back. Future mods may include LT headers and tune and nothing much beyond that....

Either one or the K&N system for half the price. All will perform pretty much the same function especially since you will be doing minimal modding.
I have had the K&N one on my car for the past year and I compared it to my friends rotofab and they are 90% identical and love the engine sound it gives.

If you live in a hot climate , a sealed system than can only draw air from outside the engine compartment is what you want . Check out the tests posted here ,a couple years ago .

From what is claimed, the VR-DRX performs on par with or better than the VR-SS (Over the Radiator version for 2010/2011 ). Whether or not that's true I have no idea, but I have heard great things about the DRX. Apparently fit and finish is also better than the OTR version.

The DRX replaces and integrates the OEM windshield washer bottle into the design which is supposed to help insulate from the hot engine bay and in their words, to 'direct flow into the scoop assembly'. It's a pretty cool design. I personally don't think the DRX looks as good as the Roto Fab or Z28 spoilers do, but I prefer function over style any day of the week. Some people like the OEM look of the DRX too.

All that said, I really don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Gotcha. The DRX unlike the older version is on the left.
