SS 4 piston to ZL1 1LE brakes questions

So I just grabbed a set of ZL1 1LE calipers for my 4 piston SS

Can anyone point me to which rotors I need?

Anything else other than new hardware?

Do the ABS sensors have to be replaced?

And last but not least, when I install all this is the car going to need to be programmed or flashed?

You will also need ZL1 brake hoses.

Do you know if you'd need upgraded hoses if you go from a SS 4 piston to a SS 1LE 6 piston?

The rear hoses between SS, SS 1LE, ZL1 and ZL1 1LE are the same; however the fronts are different between SS/ZL1 and SS 1LE.

So, if you have an SS (non-1LE), to convert to ZL1 brakes you need:
-ZL1 calipers, front and rear
-ZL1 rotors, front and rear
-New crush washers for the brake lines
-Brake fluid

The hydraulic units between SS (all) and ZL1 (all) are the same part. The Dynamic controls are a bit different between the SS, SS 1LE, ZL1 and ZL1 1LE though. You won't have an optimized system, but everything should work fine.

SS and ZL1/ZLE share the same front lines. SS 1LE are different, so yes.

And certainly pads! Spring and bridge bolt would be part of your caliper hardware kit. Contact Matt at https://wildhammermotorsports.com and you won't be missing anything!

Just extra weight.

Edit: to add... the SS/SS 1LE rear pads do fit into the ZL1/ZL1 1LE rear calipers and can be used, but less swept surface. The front SS track rotor shield can/should be used.

Basically all the brake control cals won't be 100% accurate anymore, primarily ABS. It will still function, it just won't be 100% refined as it was with original parts.

Thats what I figured but do you think it'd be to the point where you'd notice it aggressively braking on track? or no

Depends on what level of driver you are. Running close to something a pro can run, have a lot of seat time, and are very consistent but somehow still using ABS/ESC instead of threshold braking yeah there's likely a measurable impact to lap times. If you're newer and still are learning how to handle the car at its limits then likely not.

It's kinda the same idea as switching tires or wheels to something not OE. Sure the control systems won't be 100% optimized, but it doesn't necessarily make the car undriveable.
