Oil dipstick tube removal issues help!

Ok I’m in the middle of doing my headers. I removed the bolt for the dipstick tube and pulled and pulled some more. The thing doesn’t pull out. It wiggles around like crazy but I’m thinking that’s just the tube flexing maybe? Any tips to yanking this thing out. Do you pull it one way or another to make it easier? I seriously have a pair of Vice grips attached to the bracket the bolt goes through to even help me get some grip and this thing not budging. Could it possably oxidize in there? I’m kinda at my wits end took several breaks took out all the bolts to the headers already and this not coming out. I’m at the point of bolting a chain to it booming it up back off my truck and saying the hell with this thing lol seriously I wouldn’t do that but I’m getting that aggravated

Are you pulling it on a weird angle? I have removed them several times and reinstalled then with no issues. The bracket is what's holds it. It's just a stick with an o-ring towards the end that seals it from leaking oil. Not seeing how it could be seized up

I’ve never pulled one before However I don’t believe I’m pulling it at a wierd angle. Trying pulling it strait up. I have tried twisting it a little to see if it’ll turn but don’t seem like it does. I’m going back out to the car now and will try again.

I wouldn't pull too hard and risk snapping it in the pan/ block. If it really is stuck, I would pull the starter so you have access to the base of the stick.

Please tell me this is all there is to the end of the dipstick tube? Considering I’ve never seen one before idk it’s hard to tell if a piece broke off.

I tried zooming in it's blurry. The dipstick tube after the o-ring gets smaller - tapers down.

I’m afraid it broke off right at the o ring I’m looking at pictures im finding on eBay and the piece that goes into my pan looks a lot longer then this one I’ll take a better picture

If there is nothing past the o-ring and no taper of the tube I can see then it broke off.

So the dipstick goes into a hole in the block correct? Not the actual oil pan. So I’m going to have to buy a new dip stick tube and drop the pan and pull the broken end out from the bottom? Also what do you think the likelihood that that end piece is still stuck in the block and didn’t fall to the bottom of the pan? Don’t think I want to tackle that oil pan myself. I probably could. But i think I’d prefer someone else do it.

I have a spare dipstick and tube. Let me see if I can find it and get some pics for you.

Yes, it goes through the block into the pan. I would pull the starter and buy a GM dip stick tube extractor bit. Similar to an EZ- out
