Kirk I only see one water spot in the entire picture, not multiple spots. I haven't used Gliss, but I haven't read where they claim it makes the coating "water spot proof".

Just more water spot resistant than a coating alone. This single spot could have come from a variety of different things that came into contact with the surface.

Claiming a product "failed" because of only 1 spot is being a bit harsh, don't you think?

No they are all over the hood they are just hard to get a picture of.

From the CarPro Gliss product description :

Enhances resistance to water spots and mineral stains

Meaning it enhances CarPro CQuartz.

So, would you recommend SiO2 coatings? I have a summit white car and I need to be able to protect it from bug juice and get it to shine easier. I don't mind one hand wash a week, but any more, and I'd rather have a dirty car. If I get bug juice or bird droppings, I hand wash affected areas immediately since I know they can corrode painted surfaces easily.

I would still recommend ceramic coatings because they do keep the car cleaner.

This thread pertains to the fact that CarPro claims that it prevents water spots. So far no ceramic coating can prevent water spots.

Hmm, this is very interesting. Kirk how long was Gliss applied before the rain happened? Just wondering...

I too have had some issues with water spots, but this was not using Gliss. This was with other coatings that do not claim stronger resistance to water spots.
