Will 255/45R19s fit in the front of a 21 SS?

Bought some new rims that are 19x9.5 in the front and 19x11 in the rear. I’m going with 285/40R19s in the rear because I know those will fit but can’t seem to find any information on if the 255/45s will fit in the front.

You should go with 275/35 or 285/35 for your front and 305/30 in the back.

Sure, 255/45 will work. Slight bit of a stretch though, as the tread will be narrower than the wheel by an inch or more. I don't think it's optimal.

Interesting. I’m glad I asked then. Local tire shop said to put 245s on there, which I knew would be stretching it. Guess I’ll go up to 265s.

255/45/19s and 285/40/19s are both 28.0" tall, so they match in that respect. Those are both pretty tall, but they should still fit. In both cases, the rim widths you have are within the recommended range: right at the widest recommended width, but still within the recs. So I wouldn't worry about the stretch: they will match well. If you were to go with 265/45 up front, you'd end up with taller fronts than rears, and you don't really want that. Plus it would be bordering on being too tall to fit well.

However, I would echo enzia's recommendation for the front: 275/35/19 (26.6" tall). But I would pair them with 295/35/19 in back. Those are 27.1" tall, whereas a 305/30/19 is 26.3" tall and therefore would be shorter than the fronts. My size recommendations come pretty close in diameter to the SS 1LE tire diameters and widths. They are what I daily-drive my 1LE on. I'm probably missing something obvious, but I don't understand what daily driving has to do with the sizes you posted.

They don’t really have anything to do with it besides how much more expensive they are. I currently drive an hour or more to work everyday depending on traffic so I don’t want to waste such beastly tires on the boring drive if that makes sense.

I'm curious what tires you're looking to get.

Ps4 or pilot SS. I’m going with your recommendation and biting the bullet so thank you for the recommendation. Can’t wait to get them tonight.
