But we will be the stuck the crappy LT4 , I will be ordering a 17' with the A8 BTW!!!
I'm thinking a 5.5L V8 Twin Turbo at well over 700hp would be nice.

The poor cooling on the ZO6 is due to the tight engine compartment and front end layout. The Camaro doesn't have those restrictions, so I'm pretty sure they will be a none issue. I'm also going to guess they put a larger SC on the Camaro Z car to bump hp but more importantly to allow the SC to run at a lower speed, thus reducing heat. A pure guess on my part.
I didn't say they were. I would be very surprised if they put a bigger blower on top of the LT4 that will be going into the ZL1 so therefore it probably will have the same issue as with the Z06 and CTS-V.

I don't get the desire to drop displacement. What would they gain by going from 6.2 to 5.5 or 5.4?

No.

That explanation (complete with long winded patronizing) was about the failure unique to the Z06 at Laguna Seca, which was not at all related to the repeated problems well documented for Z06 models on the track.

I want the alpha ZL1 to succeed, but I honestly would be happier if GM said "eff this" and stuck the LSA into the new car. Even it made no more power than in the Zeta ZL1, the 200 or so pounds lighter mass would make it amazing. I know that won't happen, so we can only hope GM tests the engine exhaustively in the Camaro, to ensure no repeat failure.

As it is, it's only a matter of time before C7 Z06 owners file a suit against GM, as the C6 Z06 owners have recently done. Only this one will be even bigger.

You and I are on the same lines of sticking with a proven engine. That is why I mentioned the LS9.

PeterMj got his claim to fame from being ridiculous on the Corvette Forum in the C7 section prior to the release of the car. Basically still butt-hurt from being laughed off the Forum. Apparently same thing happened to him of the Viper forum as well. He's nothing more than an anti-social antagonist.

Is there a design issue with the LT4? Perhaps, it would make sense to me, in that superchargers in general are predisposed to a certain amount of heat soak, so a smaller one turning higher rpms would be even more so. I could see it as a possibility, but I'm also sure that the engineers that designed it are far more knowledgeable on the subject than I am. I do know that Juecter's comment on air trapped in the cooling system could be a cause. This is pretty common in any pressurized cooling system.
