Front tire replacement

After 4K miles of basic street driving, my front outer tire is wearing to the point that I am compelled to replace them. Needless to say I wish I would have aligned the car the day I bought it. Unfortunately none of it is under warranty.

Any one else experience excessive outerwear?

I am looking at replacing with Michelin Ps4S. Is that a good choice for routine street usage?

Thanks.

Yes. That is the best tire right now for the streets.

Get the track alignment settings. Wear is pretty even , even with just street driving, and you get the added benefit of some additional lateral grip

Best street tire you can buy. Id hazard against them for the track though.

Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires are good too! I had some on my 2016 SS and they were equal to the Michelins IMO and a little cheaper too! They have a 300 tread wear rating and handle/ride good. I still have my GY Supercar tires on my Z but definitely may look into the Continentals when it needs tires.

I went with Nitto Invos on the front. Wears like iron, and is great in the wet.

With under 12k miles, you should be able to get an alignment under warranty. Show them the excessive outer tread wear or say the car pulls etc and they can do a warranty alignment. There is an adjustments period that will cover these things. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or the Continental Extreme Contact Sport are both very good options. The Pirelli PZero PZ4 wouldn't be a bad choice either. I would not recommend replacing only the front tires with any of these options and leaving the Goodyear Supercar 3's on the back.

On a 2WD car it's ok to use different brand/model tires front rear as long as the tire type is the same, and they are rated as best in class ie extreme performance summer (PSS, PS4S, GY SC3, RE71R, etc) . Just never mix side to side, or on AWD. You might have a little more grip front or rear but that's fine for street use IMO.
PS4S is a great tire, but if you want to save A LOT of money you could find a nice used pair of PSS (many) or PS4S (fewer) on Ebay with 8-9/10s tread and run these until you wear out the whole set. Then replace with 4 new PS4S, GY SC3 , etc. PSS are still being manufactured (still OEM tire on 2019 Corvettes) and some prefer them to PS4S, they're very similar in performance.

I run a pair of 2016 DOT 325/30/19 PSS I bought sticker new off Ebay for 1/2 price, and a pair of 2018 DOT 305/30/19 PS4S I bought sticker from local dealer at full price, and the setup is great in canyons, rain etc. The PSS hook up.

Dealer told me the alignment was not under warranty. Interestingly, I have read of a few who had similar problems and the alignment was under warranty. One individual in fact indicated they also got new tires.'

I was told by my dealership here that the alignment is warrantied up to 7,500. These guys research the crap out of everything. If you’re at 4K I’d highly recommend you have them do it as some of the alignment bolts are TTY (one time use only).

I ran them for 2 night sessions at Charlotte after my OEM fronts corded on the inside edge....again.

I got passed by a turbo miata on slick's with a great driver. (Thats my only getting passed by a Miata story you will ever hear from me)

I had to align mine when it was brand new aswell. I noticed at speeds above 80mph, the car felt super unsettled. When I performed the alignment, the toe was so out, it wasn’t even funny.
