One good reason to go with ARH or Hooker IMO. I do like the fact ARH is 100% American made and as mentioned their customer support is awesome.

Also looks like the american racing header has an intermediate system that will bolt up to a aftermarket cat-back system (I assume) where kooks doesn't seem to have an equivalent product.
What about cats? Are most getting them? FL doesn't have emission testing now. Will they make the car a little quieter? Is there only a 3-4 rwhp difference? |

ARH full system hooks up to your axle back but it's one or the other

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=432604 And again here: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472259 And these systems we are talking about like the ARH 1 7/8 +Pipes are $2,000+ and add the install if not DIY. Is it worth it? A personal decision. So far an SS A8 has run 11.0s with a ported TB + manifold, E85, and DRs. Smart, low cost, and fast. Would LTs have put this SS in the 10s? Yea most likely. But it may get there without them. But if you are going supercharger (not turbos) or H/C the LTs will probably help a bit more. Like the CAI, the stock exhaust is very good and there is little to gain on a stock car.

Kooks uses a easy clamp that takes 1 minute to remove both bolts to drop the exhaust.

Ill install myself got access to a lift. For 980 its well worth it. And gains at the track have been better than what the dyno would suggest from what ive seen. On the stingray. |

I've installed both ARH and KOOKS on my 6th Gen. The ARH headers made slightly more HP but the biggest thing is fitment. The KOOKS hit the steering shaft under heavy right hand corner load where the ARH doesn't. The ARH headers have a thicker gauge stainless and better overall build quality. They are both excellent products but my vote for the 6th Gen is ARH.

Dyatech is another Great Option that will connect to your factory exhaust, available with cats or off road pipes.
We just got them in and they are SWEET. Ted.

Why is no one a fan of Stainless Works headers?
