AIM Solo2 DL Install

I’m planning to add an AIM Solo2 DL Data logger to my 1LE. I regularly work as a “data coach” 1 on 1 as well as with a number of local organizations like Hooked on Driving, BMWCCA, NASA and others.

I know the PDR provides nearly all the data needed to analyze both Driver and Vehicle performance but I need to install the Solo so I can use the same analysis software (RaceStudio) as the schools and students I coach.

Has anyone installed am AIM Solo2 DL in a Camaro? I’d like to understand how you wired it in and which interface you selected. Did you hard mount it or are you using the RAM mount (which works really well.)

Thanks in advance,

Cool, Is yours mounted with a RAM mount from the windshield? I can see the mount in your video.

Thanks,

Hope your DL version works better than the POS regular Solo 2 I have. Has never worked more than a couple of sessions then locks up. Multiple firmware updates, multiple calls to AIM. Of course, bought of Amazon. They say deal with AIM and AIM says you didn't buy it from us. Oh, and it erases tons of data when it locks up.

Nope no issues here with my aim color DL. I'm even running their Lambda all the data shows on their software without any issues. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

I work at a Data-Coaching a school where we have 20 Solo DLs (gen 1s) we do 6-8 events a year and I’ve never had any serious issues with any of them. It should be noted that keeping them plugged into a 12v power source keeps them from shutting off between sessions (which was a problem during our first couple of events a few years ago). Do you have power hooked up to yours?

I started unplugging my DL from the OBD port after each session.

I can't say for sure, but after the first event using the DL2 I had a weird electrical issue on the car. My eLSD started malfunctioning and my HUD stopped working. After unplugging the battery and resetting the car all was good. Since then I unplug after each session and havent seen the issue again. No idea if it was a coincidence or actually related.
