It’s not about bolting on. It’s about the A8 being able to work with the MBRP Exhaust. Because Of the AFM I would need a tune just to put on axelbacks and that’s where I needed input. Because the M8 are a simple cut and bolt on with no tune. And I’m wondering if that could be the same case with the A8 as well.

You will need to tune it if you get a CATBACK since I don't think they are compatible with AFM.
AXLEBACK doesn't require a tune since its just a bolt on.

if you get catback , leave the afm valves plugged in . Youll still go into v4 mode . Axelback you wont need a tune

How will I leave afm plugged in if the mbrp doesn’t have an option to use the afm?

Maybe zip tie the valves to the side?
Try taking the AFM motors off, leave them connected, and then zip tie them to the side and see if it throws a code.

I've thought about that once but decided to keep them to quiet down highway cruising and swaped out everything else.

I have the axle back on my A8. Just bolts on with no issues and no tune required.
