How cold or hot is too much?

ok everyone, last night I put the top down at 57 degrees and it was chilly but WONDERFUL. The heated steering wheel is just great!

I've had it down in as low as 37 degree weather and as high as 102 degree weather.

What's the lowest & highest you'll put the top down at?

Tough questions. Regarding coldest, short trips around town are one thing and highway speeds dramatically change things. My wife and I have been out with hats on, heat on full, seats and steering wheel on, a hot coffee, and our dog in the back. We love the car. However if I had to give a coldest Temp... Sun shining, 42 deg. As far as hottest, we live in the north east and have not hit a max and probably never will. Again, love the car. Rock on!

Great question. I am currently drawing the line at 50 degree's. But even with that, I haven't put the top down for the last few days that got that warm. I always wonder what the other drivers are thinking when I drive around with it down and it's that cold.

A windscreen helps a lot when it is cold, but my decision is usually based on how fast I will be driving. Even at 65 degrees, if you are doing 80 mph it can get cold quick without the sun.

For the heat, I am hoping the vented seats make driving more comfortable. But it is usually the sun that makes me put the top up, not the heat. 100 degrees at night is more comfortable than 80 in the sun.

I love it when I'm at a light with the top down when its cold. When I take off, they're still sitting there. You KNOW they were just sitting there wondering " WHY does that guy have his top down?" and not paying attention to the light!

I believe somewhere in the manual it gives a minimum temperature at which it will let you lower the top.

We had some sunny days in the Bay Area and I had the top town. Driving on the freeway was really cool and I loved the breeze. When the sun was nearly gone it got kind of chilly. But that's why I got the convertible :-)

Never fails - someone will ask 'how can you stand the top down today?'

I always respond with 'have you ever driven / owned a convertible?

If its warm enough to roll down the window its warm enough to put down the top. At least when there is no one riding in the back seat.

Now if there are three of us (wife and daughter), the rules change a little bit.

I would have to agree with SomeGeoffGuy's line of thinking. It depends on how cold/hot it "feels". On my way home from work this past Friday, it was 60°F and I put the top down. With the heated seats on medium, heated steering wheel on, the heater set at 75°F, the windows down and wearing a light jacket, driving down the freeway for ~12 miles at 70-75mph felt very comfortable. On Saturday, I put the top down to run a few errands. It was 51°F, but it felt just as warm out as it did on Friday. So I went sans jacket (no freeway driving). So far, I think that's the coldest I've had the top down. Hottest has been around 100°.
