I found this out the other day and couldn't believe it. I'm going to need to figure out some solution or I will despise driving this car. I'm sure there's a reason for it. Anyone knows the logic behind it?

Raise your seat up? Sunglasses? My head almost hits the ceiling so I have never had a problem with the low sun.

I'm photophobic and wear sunglasses virtually all the time when it's bright. When the sun hits the driver window at a certain angle it bothers me as light gets behind the sunglasses. I'm going to need to physically block the upper part of the window with something non-permanent. I'm thinking a small section of static cling material like this may be a good solution.

What about sunglasses that provide more coverage? One of the first things I checked off my list after taking delivery was new Oakley prescription sunglasses so I could drive in comfort with the top down whenever I want to. I keep them in the glove box and swap glasses when I drop the top. Since I don't have extra sensitivity, personally I don't need to use them when the top is closed.

The most annoying thing about them to me is not having a cover over the mirror! At least on my 5th gen you could slide the cover to close up the mirror.

I couldn't agree any more..I don't want to be looking at myself in the mirror while driving, it's super distracting. I'm going to make something to cover the mirror that can be easily removed...

Edit: if you have a medical condition your state should allow for the application of tinting material on your front window.

Hmmm.... Considering this is the convertible forum... Here's a solution that should prevent direct light hitting your eye from the side WITH OR WITHOUT the top down.

Have you considered Oakley's Trash Can Sunglasses?

I've got Air 70 on the inside of the front windshield. Hardly noticeable. I wanted the Air 90 but they don't stock it at the shop I went to. This kills a lot of the UV light from the front and keeps it cooler inside.

I keep a hat in the car with me at all times. Two actually - a ball cap (under the drivers seat) and a duck style hat (rolled up in the door pocket - http://www.villagehatshop.com/produc...tton-duck.html). Years ago, with my first vert, the sun never bothered me. Now it does, so I wear a hat when the top is down to keep the sun from coming in around my sunglasses. Im sure I look funny in a suit and jacket, top down, wearing a cap. But I really dont care . I might have to try those Oakleys though.

The sun visors make me laugh - there is so little to them. But, the way the car is designed, there wasnt much else they could do.

Those shades are very similar to the ones I have. Mine are Straight Link. They have lots of similar frame styles that give good coverage but don't make you look like a wannabe Olympian.
