First mods list: 2SS purchase

Hey guys. Looks like I will be the owner of a 2022 2SS in just a couple days. Any suggestions for first enhancements? Should I upgrade the tires? If so any recommendations on brand or tire size? What items did you upgrade first? Thanks for any suggestions?

Not an "exciting" list but very useful stuff, IMO Tires should be good for a while unless you are hitting the track?

Are you concerned about warranty? Some mods will void the powertrain warranty but well worth it. Depends on what you are planning to do with car? Track, weekend ride, daily driver?

I would leave the car like it is since it maybe a future collectible especially with all the Indy racetrack decals on it. That’s my .02 cents worth!

I don't plan on doing much. I do have a set of rock guards and may tint windows. Got a set of floormats and a nice license plate frame. Wasn't sure if upgrading the tire would be a must do but sounds like I can wait on that.

I have had zero desire to do anything to my 2SS personally engine or suspension wise. My big thing was getting rid of the run-flats. But a few little things, such as a Range device to eliminate the cylinder deactivation which works great... Lifting pads... Front rock guards so the tires didn't kick rocks up to the rear panel of the car (helps a bunch!).

But the car is just so good on it's own in stock form... Unless you NEED to tinker for specific reasons, just leave it alone performance wise. No need for catch cans, cold air intakes, etc... Unless you just have money you want to spend for no return. Some people go the PPF route to protect the front end, but for me, the cost didn't make sense when I could literally get the bumper and hood repainted for less money when it gets bad enough, haha. Plus, the hood is aluminum and the front end is plastic, so no concern on rust there.

I vote for good maintenance. Get the proper oils, do an early oil change or two (500/1500 or something), do the diff fluid change early, etc...

Instead, keep up on good maintenance. Get the proper oils, do an early oil change or two (500/1500 or something), do the diff fluid change early, etc...
What tires did you get to replace the run flats?

Is that Wild Cherry? Damn that's good looking! Stop posting pics or you're gonna make me go out and buy that WC ZL1 I want!

Another poster said keep the decals. I disagree, I don't think they add any value now or in the future. A *real* Indy 500 Pace car would be a different deal, but this just looks like a promo car for a 2nd rate race (Verizon 200?). Not from the factory and not a Chevy sanctioned version of the car.

As for tires, lots of people here replace the OEM run flats with either Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4's if you need true all-season, or Michelin Pilot Sport PS4S's if you want a good "3 season" tire.

I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. I like them a lot! A bit quieter than the run flats for sure and still give plenty of grip and all that.

Yep, it is Wild Cherry. It was an official festival car for both the Indy 500 & the Verizon Brickyard 200. It's car #38 out of 50. They just swapped out the sticker because they didn't have enough cars to make for both races.

I figured it was one of the festival cars and I would have to disagree with those who say remove the decals, unless you can get another set just to keep with the vehicle when you sell it in the future.

Congratulations, it’s a very pretty car

Thank you! My salesman says he knows the person who makes the decals. If that turns out to be true I am going to get a set of each one to keep with the car.
