Can you later add rear collision alert to a 2SS
After buying a 2ss I noticed it wasn’t equipped with rear collision alert yet the place for sensors were still in the back. Is it possible to get them installed later?

I don't believe there is such a thing as "rear collision alert" similar to Front Collision Alert. The only function in the rear is Rear Park Assist. My 2SS has it, it's controlled within the MyLink screen. Are you sure it's turned on in the MyLink menu?

Did you get a credit for the back up sensors when you purchased the car? Those have been on constraint. My understanding is they can be dealer installed at no cost to you once the parts are available on those vehicles that were produced without them.

Yeah, those sensors are primarily for when you back up, if there are cars coming perpendicular (think a parking lot or out of a driveway) it will blink/notify you of traffic coming from that direction.
As mentioned above, you may have to enable it in the options. |
