no doubt. I've seen this car do some weird stuff compared to other new model cars I've owned/driven. I've had to learn what it's supposed to do so I can't just blame it on some malfunction.

For my use case of going around town and some spirited driving I'm not going to complain. The A8 gets the job done and has been very solid; shuddering aside. I've seen some amazing numbers done by some guys with the A8 from a performance aspect. I don't even think the Corvette camp is using the A10s yet so we're not completely left behind yet.

I havent seen the shudder as much since my AFM has been turned off since the truck was new. I got it several months ago, had the fluid change and it went away. I went in and zero'd out the slip tables and added some pressure to the max pressure table.

As of now I am running 45% of the timing from the downshift tables and 50% of the upshift timing tables, shifs are really quick and firm now. Not enough to be annoying as I left the low throttle input area of the tables alone.

Everyone seems to be saying how much better and awesome the 8L80 is when you tune it. Unfortunately I can't since I have a 2017 with the T87A, but what have people been changing in the tune with HP tuners to make it so much better? From what I can tell we are missing so many tables (as usual). Also Has anyone been able to make it WOT shift at consistent and predictable RPMS?

What do you mean you cant tune your TCM? You just have to send it out and get it unlocked, then it's tunable.

Mine shifts on point at WOT...very consistent.

X2 on what King said. Got my TCM unlocked and then it’s tunable just like a 2016. Pretty much all the tables needed in there as far as I can tell. I’m no HP tuners expert by any means though.

Tune made a huge difference in my car.

Sorry I should have been more specific, The latests calibrations I open up with hp tuners beta I don’t see any tables regarding TCC lockup inhibit conditions. I feel like there is a parameter that won’t allow the TCC to lock above a certain Slip amount. I think it’s programmed just low enough to where it will stop the TCC from locking at WOT even with stock power.
