I -thought- I would be interested in this and quickly realized that it's not an issue at all. With my car being the M6 transmission, I do not drive with my hand on the shifter unless I'm actually shifting gears. The rest of time, I seem to be hanging on to the wheel with both hands for dear life....

I thought it wouldn't be a problem for me either but several times I have switched modes mid session on track while reaching for the shift knob. adding throttle expecting some oversteer to happen and the power just cuts cuz you went from all nannies off to all nannies on is very annoying when you're on a flyer lap.

Now that is something I could use. My wife is the driver of our 2021 2SS A10 and I have been in the car with her. She sets her pocket book in that area when there is a passenger. other wise she puts it on the passenger seat. She has turned off traction control too.

Sorry for the necro-post…

Did anyone ever share files for this? My dog constantly puts his paw Right on the darn button. And that’s real fun riding along the highway all of a sudden….

I modeled one based on a post earlier in this thread, but wouldn’t mind being able to compare/contrast.

I wasted a couple of autox runs this season with those stupid mode and traction buttons being in such a dumb place. This is the 1st thing I'd change about the car if I could. '

Any progress on the switch guard? Anyone care to sell me one or share the file required to 3D print it?

I had the same issue when I first got my car. I ended up purchasing one of these shift panel trim covers from Amazon and it fixed my problem. I went with silver since it matches the silver trim on the doors. This doesn't prevent you from accessing the mode button like a cover does, but it makes it harder to inadvertently hit the button like I was doing before, because the switch is more recessed than stock.

Agreed, it makes it much less likely to hit those buttons accidentally!

Any install tips to pass along regarding the Amazon cover?

The one I got already has double sided trim tape on it, just peel and stick!

Yep. It's pretty straight forward. I recommend cleaning the area first with something that has alcohol in it and then make sure you press the cover down firmly. My cover's shape was almost flat and the trim around the shifter has a slight bend to it so the cover needs to be pressed firmly in place to make it flex and stick.
