There is an unequal amount of good and bad in most things, the trick is to work out the ratio and act accordingly.

That was one of the things I looked at at GIllette yesterday. There is a LOT of room between the calipers and the 20s. I wouldn't be that concerned going down to 19s. I wouldn't be surprised to find some 18s that clear too.

It's the one thing I *totally* forgot to look at.

Does anyone think 18" x 8" wheels would fit over the brakes? There are basically no snow tires that fit on a 19" x 8.5" :S

19's in 245/45-19: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...r=19&zip-code=

Won't know until someone tries. Should be simple enough to try and fit the 18" 1LT wheels on it and "see". Just gotta wait for someone with the materials (like a dealer with a 1-2LT and an SS) to try.

Like I said, on the 4 pots, there is a LOT of room between the caliper (logo side - over a fingers worth) to the back of the spokes (where proper offset comes into play) and also between the caliper (long side) to the back of the wheel (for wheel diameter - about 2.5").

I tried to order 245 /45R19 but they said that the tire size is too small compared to the stock tires

This is all I could find for markings inside the polished 20" wheel.

If the wheel will fit over the diameter of the brake, but the brake cover is too close to the wheels spokes, worst case scenario would you just put a spacer in, so the brake doesn't touch the tire?

You could, but then you change the offset and the centerline of the wheel. You'd have to buy wheels accounting for that offset difference (existing wheel offset + spacer = new offset).

Does it matter if the centerline moves a few mm though? So you have to exactly match the centerline?

I thought the only thing to consider with offset was to make sure the inner wheel does not hit the suspension, and you could make the wheel go further out if you wanted
