Need HELP with HALOs?????
I finally have my car all done and my only issue is with my Halo lights. I have a 2SS and wanted the RS to get the Halos but I didn't find one. What I did was order the OEM Halo light housings and full wiring harness to do the install. Now I have everything hooked up, the Halos work but my actual headlights and fog lights don't. I was told by my local dealer that they contacted GM and GM said I have to have a specific code to put into the computer but that they would not give it to them. So basically I am stuck with no headlights or fog lihgts. This makes no sense that I can buy all the parts but can't get a code? I am going to contact another dealer and try to contact GM directly personally but this is very frustrating to deal with. I was hoping that someone else has tried this or new someone they could ask about this issue.

I think the control for the non-RS and RS cars are not the same, as the RS will use the fogs for DRL...

It is very frustrating how this is an issue. GM doesn't want to tell anyone how to fix the issue because GM doesn't want to leak out how their codes so that other companies will start making and selling aftermarket headlights. Kinda smart and dumb on GM's part. I am attempting this project too and have the wire harness on order and am trying to buy the rs lights off ebay. I talked to my dealership and they said that they would try to get this all to work when it gets in. I asked what would happen if it doesn't work. They said they would try and get the info from GM for the codes by acting like they were working on an RS camaro and it was having issues. I'm hoping this will do the trick and maybe you can ask your dealer to do the same. They said that they would have to flash the BMI or BIM, I forget which, to make it work most likely. Hope this helps.

Don't blame GM - there is no magic code to make it work right. You would need a custom BCM calibration to get it to work. You could try putting an RS BCM in, but you would probably need to swap the IP and Main Body Wiring harnesses to have it work right.
It looks like someone has made a wiring kit for this mod, probably the best route unless you want to do some custom wiring yourself. -Geoff
