2024 HotRod PowerTour

2024 Dates out. Anyone done this or plan to? Any good stories? Part of my justification for car is to get my business in different areas. Dirt car wraps and business logos my usual area.

Drinking beer each night at the hotels sounds like the highlight for this tour. That and touring the Corvette museum.

I did part of the tour last year in my 60s muscle car. It's basically a 5 day travelling car show. One of the stops last year was Z-Maxx Dragway in Charlotte NC and participants were allowed to drag race. Other than that and checking out the other cars, there is not much to do at each stop. Getting in and out of each location is a nightmare with 1 to 2 hours of sitting in long lines of traffic with a few thousand other cars. They give a specific route that they want you to travel to the next stop but you aren't required to. Along the route a lot of people set up by the roads to watch all the cars drive by. To me, the driving to each location was the best part.

It will eventually. It's in a different part of the country each year

Long hauling it this year. Hotels are all booked. Tickets have partially sold out. I'm beyond excited. Anyone wanting to caravan from Ohio please feel free to hit me up.

I too came here looking for details and stories.

Dang already? I thought about it but maybe I’ll just hang out in Indy on the last day since it’s like 2 miles from the house

they do have power tours in the west. Normally later in the year. You missed the 2023 it was in December.

truth be told, there will be no good stories in a car that doesn't have issues.

brake caliper reassembly
starter replacement
coil spring replacement
tire replacement
countless other diagnosis & repair events

to name a few

when i took my camaro is when i realized how boring it can be. no one knows you exist in a 6g camaro and the most you do is put gas in it. i did burnouts and floored it, but those cars are invisible.

i plan on taking a fresh gen v swap car this year. if it isn't done i'll get on marketplace with a $5k budget and buy the biggest pos big block 70s car i can find.
