I have been wanting to dive in to coatings but have been concerned with getting a good finish with no high spots and water spotting. Wheel specific, I have been concerned they would turn the wheels glossy which is something I do not want.

I ordered the Chemical Guys wheel guard wax. With the 25% off it is worth a try. I watched several of the Adams videos. It looks to be more time consuming than what I am interested in at this time. The wheel wax may not work as good. But it is worth a try to see if I like it. Plus the price of the wheel kit from Adams is not cheap. I think it is a little over priced if you ask me.

It works great, I washed one of my wheel with wheel cleaner the other day and when I was done noticed it didn’t bead up as nice anymore. Washed the other 3 with regular car wash and they held up better so just a tip to keep it on there a little longer.

This kit did not add any gloss

It is also not time consuming. You just have to wait 18-24 HRs for the final ceramic boost step

Not to change the subject, but did those "mud flaps" come on the car, or are they aftermarket? With these sticky tires and living in Florida, I pick a butt load of sand off the road! Any pics of the entire car with them??

Thnx

Did anyone do the brake calipers with the coating? I bought the kit and plan on doing my wheels and calipers at the same time. Just waiting for some warm weather. LOL

Sure, calipers are fine, alcohol wash them first. And if you got thousands of miles on them, you should Iron decontaminate first, with something like iron-x or Sonax.....

i used Carpro dlux on both the calipers and the rims, the calipers looked awesome and it did keep them from looking dusty.

it also did not make the wheels glossy, just a little darker like they were wet.

Personally, I use the Gtechniq Wheel Coatimg and have on many cars. I find it works well.
This! When I had my car ceramic coated with Gtechniq products, they did the wheels with their coating and brake dust comes off with ease!

While the passive aggression is somewhat entertaining; the fact remains that when brake dust comes off it far exceeds the temperature ratings of the spray wax you recommended, rendering it useless. DD or not, you are still converting kinetic energy into heat energy here.
