Axle back recommendation non-npp

Looking for an axle back for a non-npp. Requirements would be 304ss and little to no drone. I know drone sensitivity varies from person to person, but I would still like to make calls in the car. I have been in some cars (80’s 300zx tiny magnaflows) where my earwax felt like it would liquefy and run out of my ear and that would be highly unacceptable.
Currently I have my eyes on Borla’s atak or s-type. I’m worried the atak might be to loud in the morning but on the flip side don’t want to find out the s-type is to quiet in every day driving.
The two others I am looking at are the MRT version 2 and Hookers blackheart with mufflers. How would these two fit in sound wise compared to the Borla options?
Any and all help would be appreciated.

I have the corsa extreme. IMO it’s the best sounding, nicest looking tips and no drone. Plenty of clips on YouTube.

As nice as Corsa is it is more than I would like to spend on just an axle back. I'm looking to spend at most $650. I know when the vendors run specials you can get Borla close to that price.

Following...I am thinking about just doing the cutouts with the electronic switch. Right now, this is where I am leaning.

I used the kooks axle back with muffler delete on mine. It cost around $500.00 from phastek camaro. I had really bad drone on the interstate so I put a set of augers inside the pipes to create back pressure which got rid of all of the drone. I really like the sound plus it was cheap. Here is a sound clip and a link to the augers if your interested.

augers for pipes (these will have to be driven into the pipes but once in they don't move)

There is no drone with the Borla Atak axle back. I also have non-NPP and yes, the cold start is loud. You can't get around that because even stock has a loud start. The sound also is pretty intense at mid and full throttle so sometimes I do wish I bought the S-type. Otherwise while cruising (even at highway speed) and idling the car is not loud. Make sure the stock pipes get cut in the right place. My installer had the tips sticking out too far and there were some really strange sounds in 4 cylinder mode until I cut the pipes some more and tucked them in further. I think the brackets were hitting the bumper and that was making the noise. After my fix all those noises were gone.

Keep an eye out in the member classified. From years ago to now that's the first place I look for non wearable parts like exhaust. Even if I have the money to buy what I want , I will always look for an even better deal.

Interesting, those augers look like the inside of moroso spiral flow mufflers which sound really good.

Yes, you can just hammer them into the pipes, they recommend putting tack welds on to help them stay in place but I personally didn't do it because I might want to take them out one day. They definitely get rid of drone and are cheap. The kooks exhaust make it easy to install because the pipes are sectioned together right at a straight spot but you could always cut the pipe install them then weld them back together. I hopes this helps.
