Hi Camaro Fam,

Please excuse me if this has already been answered or its floating around and I'm overlooking for it. My question is.."What type of tires you guys installed on your 6 Gen after the facotry Eagle F1 Run Flats wears off ?" Do you apply All-Seasons, Run-Flats, or any speed rated tire you find thats cheap? I live in Michigan so I get to enjoy all four seasons but my car will not be driven in the WINTER. Only Summer, Fall at most.

I daily drive my SS, so I needed a practical tire that would work in most weather conditions. I do drive my Camaro during the winter, so I have a dedicated winter tire. But I also didn't want to be replacing tires every 15,000 miles. For me that would be a set ever two years at least. I went with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 All Season tire. I should be seeing 30,000+ miles out of this tire and it comes with free roadside towing up to 150 miles; I'm covered for three years. I also purchased from TireRack so I get free tire replacement in case of a flat tire to boot.

Oh ok awesome. Thanks for sharing. Do you notice any road noise compared to the original tire since you installed the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 All Season? I noticed you expected 30k miles for the tires.. I assume that without tire-rotation right since our wheels are staggered unless you upgraded your rims as well.

Maybe it doesn't help you much, but here in Germany we use full sommer tires and winter tires regardless if we have snow or not. We change the tires in October to winter and Easter for summer. We do not even have all season tires in that size probably because of the no limits on our highways. The all season are only allowed to max 210km/h= 130mph. And if we floor the pin we reach easily 290km/m = 180mph.

Oh ok that nice to know. I was actually thinking about going that route too. I dont mind getting two sets of tires and rotating them that way. I guess I have to "pay to play" lol.

I went this route as well. I daily drive mine year round at 100+ miles a day, so this was really the only viable option. These tires are great compared to the run-flats as well. Traction is better and they ride 1000x quieter. Also got mine from Tire Rack for the warranty/road hazard coverage.

I also have the conti DW's and I've been very pleased with them so far. Much quieter and smoother ride. I liked the handling of the F1's more. At the limit, these roll a bit more and that's expected, but the trade off is a win for me.
I drive pretty aggressively. I don't do burn outs, but I only got about 7k miles out of the factory F1's. If I get 15k miles out of these Conti's, I'll be impressed. 30k just seems unrealistic.

We go for Michelin Pilot super sport i.e. back 275/35 ZR20 (102Y) or Pirelli P Zero, also the Hankook have high performance wheel.

I did forget about the rotation part, maybe 20-25k then. We'll have to see! I never drove on my OEM tires. I took them off at the dealership when I purchased the car. These tires seem quiet though.

Yeah we'll see what I can get, I'm hoping for 30k, but I forgot about the rotation issue with a staggered setup. So we'll see what happens. I need to measure my tread when I hit 10k miles on these tires.

Thats nice to know. I guess I cant have the best of both worlds. Its either a quieter & smoother ride or scarifice a tad bit of for the rolling...

Tire Rack (or Continental) warranties 50k miles, or 25k miles staggered. I will know within a year how they hold up.

Almost any summer tire that is not a run flat. The towing warranty on the Conti's is a real plus. As for 15k miles on the original tires, good luck with that.
