In the beginning i sort of agreed with you. But the look grew on me. Other people really like my LT1 look.

I am sure it has different definitions among different circles but it is the tow hook thingermajob...

The tow hooks are supposedly there so that the towing vehicles at the track can quickly get your car to safety and out of the way of the other racers if your vehicle happens to be disabled in the middle of a lap.

EDIT: Maybe not, but still the SS has one

I preferred the look of the refresh base front over the SS from the beginning. It’s like a modern interpretation of the gen5 ZL1.

I made this September 2018 to illustrate that.

SSes and ZL1s have a spot in in the grill where you can take this small section out and you can screw the tow bar in the trunk into a threaded hole in the bumper (I think) and the hook sticks out from the grill. If you break down on a track the tow truck can pull you around with the hook in seconds. No damage to those aluminum Camaro parts and everyone waiting to run claps for you for being prepared. LOL

I have been there blowing a diff at Atco. But now I have several tow bars but no receiver that we can find so far. Chevy even supplied one with my LT1.

Where do it go?

Yea, I see it, but that pic makes me miss my 5th gen ZL1. GM had to buy it back. :(

They are nice cars. They just need a bigger blower.

This was mine.

I guess I like Jacko-Lanterns because the LT1 with the RS package is by far my favorite 6th gen. Then the 16 SS, 16 RS and the rest I don't care for.

No.

According to the marketing info:

Cooling – extra-capacity cooling system and external engine and transmission oil coolers (requires automatic transmission on
SS Convertible)

And

Cooling – auxiliary engine coolant cooler and rear differential oil cooler (Coupe)

This is clear as mud as to what is actually present on the convertibles. Is only the transmission cooler present with an auto but everything else is there all of the time? Or are multiple items in this list only present on automatics?

The capacities shown in the manual for the cooling system show different capacities based on "with auxiliary cooler" and without. So, these two line items seems somewhat redundant as they're saying the same thing in different ways.

The extra cooling functions are seemingly intended for when the car gets tracked. And the convertible is not a "track car" due to the reduced body rigidity.
