Perplexed on tire pressure
So, I’ve a slow leak for the last few weeks. As the tread was already low, decided not to fix, but rather get new tires. Left discount tire with a new tire at 36 lbs and by the time I get to work 35 minutes later, it’s down to 24 lbs. I put back up to 36 lbs and and 10 minute ride to the local discount tire loses me 5 lbs. Not a slow leak now.
They take the wheel and tire and submerge it completely in water. They can find no leak. They take the tire off the wheel and find no damage to the wheel. They check the valve stem and say no problems there. I’m at a loss. Maybe a small crack in the wheel that only lets air out under load?? |

Dropping it in the water should have shown the grommet and valve stem problem...
