Wheel Balancing Question

Hi,
I recently installed a new set of tires.
I would like to remove the wheels from the car to clean the wheel barrels.
I noticed there is adhesive residue left on the barrel from the previous balancing weights.
It's kind of thick, about .5 mm and about 1/2 inch square.
Wondering if I clean/remove the old adhesive residue from the wheel it may mess up the balance of the wheel?
Thanks,

No, that foam doesn't weigh anything. Use some goo gone and it will wipe right off.
