Supra is at the top of my list if GM can't figure out how to sell me a ZLE.

Great value with tons of head room for modification. Many of my fellow Evo enthusiasts have moved over to it, and are having lots of success at the track with them.

A lot of bias here. I have some real world experience as I had a 2022 2SS 1LE M6 and still currently have a 2021 M40i X3 suv (same motor as the Supra). The M40i ran 12.7@107 at the dragstrip. The 2SS ran a 13.1@109. That's right, couldn't even break 110 barrier even with no lift shift. Both vehicles run in Phoenix, Az. The gearing is just terrible in the M6 SS, so I think that plays a significant role as well as the fact that the M40i is significantly underrated. I completely expect a lighter Supra with the same motor to beat the Camaro.

Immediately unloaded the SS as I couldn't stand it being slower than my wife's family hauler. LOL. Now have a 2022 ZLE A10 instead. Beast!

If going quick on the drag strip while also having a daily car is important to you then I think getting an electric car makes the most sense. People making comparisons between AWD cars and RWD cars in a 0-60 or quarter mile seems a bit silly to me. AWD is always going to have a huge advantage when both cars make the same power.

The weight makes a difference makes a difference but 0-60 numbers appear about the same...?

It's more so some just can't fathom the car they drive can be beat especially when it's a 6 or 4 cylinder beating up on a 8. See it all the time in YouTube comments as well. Here it's always well "tack it to the track and see what happens" which isn't the point of the video posted so who cares what each do at a track. It was a drag race and the Camaro lost. It also lost with the A10 in a Lt1 model on the same YouTube channel. Credit where credit is due the new Supra is a potent machine. I can't wait to see the comments here when someone eventually posts one of the new S650 Mustangs beating the Camaro in a drag race.

Who can’t fathom a boosted 4 or 6 outrunning a na 8 cylinder especially when the Camaro is bigger car from 2016?

Yeah, this car will need more practice than a AWD automatic.

My f150 Powerboost ran this in the left lane first time out. Slapped a tune on and go. I botched the run that would’ve been 12.40s. Still the “slower” camaro is way more fun.

I still think the Camaro isn’t being driven well by those people.
Trust me, I know how to drive and have owned many fast cars over the years. You ran this time in NJ, you would not run a similar time in Phoenix, Az. My comparison is apples to apples given the X3 M40i was run at the same track. Perhaps mine just didn't run as strong as some others, but it's not the driving.

Like I said it also beat an Lt1 which came out in what 2020. Mentioning boost vs na is the same as when the Mustang guys bring up displacement when they race Camaros. You run what you bring to the strip. Maybe if GM cared about this platform the roles would be reversed and all would be well here on Camaro6.

I’ve been driving at this track for 20 years and still 0.5 off the fastest times.

It’s not apples to apples bc any clueless driver can run that m40i out at the track. We have a few of them at this track. It’s similar to my f150 as I tried to point out. Three passes and I’d be right at the best possible time rather than what would take me 100 passes at a rental in a rwd manual on a factory tire

Run what u brung that’s fair. I’d be driving a slower 6.2 zr2 if it had panoramic sunroof and some other features. Now driving this numb soulless ecoboost that feels like the truck version of that m4 motor my bro picked up last christmas
Is it splitting hairs if that's all GM gave us? Newer auto trans less weight same result. Sure it's the same motor but the motor isn't the reason for it losing its the weight. 400lbs difference before you add in the drivers. Not to mention BMW is coy with their actual output of their cars. A c6 Z06 would dog walk both and it's older and naturally aspirated.

Arguing about a single metric seems kinda pointless. I bought my camaro because it has personality

I think I remember that one and it was surprising given the a10. The LT1 did have terrible tires though.
