Mustang Dyno - 100 shot, 110 Octane = 541 Torque 548 HP. Basically about 700-30 to the fly wheel. Will have to wait for the 200 shot after track runs next week, want to see my times first. Will be going back to tuner next week before track because the last run was a bit lean, and will read spark plugs. 2 out 3 runs where clean but last one almost seemed to have a misfire.

It is impossible to calculate these values accuratly, this information should be used as a rough guide only.

I wouldn’t recommend a 200 shot untill you have this setup pefected, what you really need is headers..... with that 100 shot you should be well into 600+ rwhp and easily into the 10’s with proper setup. On a side note this is not a gen 4 powertrain and tuners dont really know what there doing with these gen 5 direct injection powertrains. Your asking to kill this engine im telling you, either by melting something,bending a rod or cracking/disinigrating a ring land. Im just trying to help, its not fun when you pop a engine and definitely not cheap. Im building my buddys 2011 ss right now, he bent a rod last fall on 10 pounds of boost on a stock internal ls3, it leaned out cause the tune was off and pre detnated.

No way in hell. 650 hp tops

My bolt on automatic car makes 490 rwhp. My mods are proven time and time again to make about 80 hp over stock.

My car at 490 rwhp is about 550 hp. I’m 480 rwhp sae corrected which is right in line with a mustang dyno

And yep 200 shot is going to kill a stock bottom lt1. But you could get away with it for a while.

I was just applying what the tuner said, add 17%. Maybe my math is off, double checked and JEB above in his post was more accurate in his math. (634-43) I am more a performance type guy and after years of modding this is my first experience on dynos in the last two years. We used to just build and race and who ever won the race was the fastest at the time and place.

Well my winter project was to try to clean up the engine bay and paint the high ram. I did end up painting the high ram a metallic cherry red, kind of on the fence if I like it or not. It’s impossible for me to clean up the engine bay, so many wires and extra hoses. The engine dubbed the “Octopus” will remain entangled in a controlled mess of some sort.

The positive side of this project is that I did find one solenoid with two wires that started to fray with is not very good. The torque that the solenoids exert and twist because of the brackets NX supplies. I am getting better brackets that are solid. I rewired the solenoid and repositioned the position as best I could till I get better brackets.

I hear you and believe me it is in my back of my head. I am taking every precaution and your right about the tuners. So far I have not felt any confidence in the two tuners I have used so far. Second tuner after dyno run, I pulled my plugs to check them, number one plug was just starting to melt, the others where fine. So, I am going to take it very slow till I find a good NOS tuner.

“If the spark plug is too hot, it can cause pre-ignition, melting the spark plugs electrode and causing engine failure. If the spark plug is too cold, it can cause plug fouling by allowing deposits to build up on the spark plug due to weak ignition spark.”

I put in colder plugs. BTW I do have headers.

Just added E85/tune and linelock.

Just added E85/tune and linelock.

I have no idea on the power increase yet, I will hit the dyno at the end of the month. The SJM line-lock was tied into my two stepper with a toggle switch so I can do a burn out in the box and then switch the toggle switch at the line so I hold the button with both linelock and the two stepper activated.

So far, the biggest thing I take away from E85 is that it’s such a clean burn with no smell. I have no cats and it was a raunchy smell, now I am very happy and the cost of E85 is a lot cheaper then race gas.

Also, I finally found a tuner that actually knows what to do and solve problems. An actual great mechanic that knows how to build an engine and tune. Previous Tuners, where just Tuners. I recommend a mechanic & tuner by far. I actually took my car all the way down to Southern California for the Tune. Well worth it in my opinion.

Not sure what u mean in regards not 650. Guaranteed I am pushing around same numbers as you and now I am with E85. I will let you no the numbers at end of month when I get the car back home on the dyno. So let’s say I am 480-505 to the wheels on a mustang dyno and add a 200 shot. I would be over the 650 mark. Maybe I just was not clear in my above post with the numbers. I was talking about Natural Aspirated power and adding a Nitrous shot. Also I will try a 200 shot. But in reality I will stay with a lower shot to keep the chances of something breaking down. But anything can happen even without Nitrous.

200 shot + E85 and no fuel upgrades w/o taking care of the bottom end will likely blow up the motor.

I have a stand alone fuel system in the trunk. Tuner said run 110 in stand alone fuel system which I already do for any size shot.
