I am sure it is something stupid I am missing but my 19 with the new infotainment system doesn't display my text messages like my 2018 truck does. I have gone into the Bluetooth settings on my phone and enabled notification but they don't show up. That is what I had to do with my truck to get it to show up. I was messing around with the phone settings in the infotainment system but all it would let me know is delete it. Has anyone figured this out?

If I want to use apple car play yes. I don't have to do that in my truck 2018 GMC. I am going to run over to the dealer once the weather breaks here

2019 Camaro has a newer system and they killed this feature a lot of guys complaining in the 19 Silverado forum about this as well

Wow this is stupid, on my '18 my phone doesn't always work with making calls via a wired connection, happens if I leave the phone plugged in and shut off and turn on the vehicle. But it always works over the wireless Bluetooth if I unplug it when this happens. For wired connection calls to work again I need to shut off the vehicle with the phone unplugged and then start the vehicle and reconnect the phone.

You made me actually go out and test this one.

I use it all the time in my 18 Silverado and just assumed it worked in the Camaro especially since the new system is better in "almost" every way.

I understand the change, but they should make it an option.

I personally do not want my text messages broadcasted on my screen , especially when you have others in your car. I know in the upcoming iOS 13 update, there will be a Do Not Disturb option and a option to not send a notification when using Apple CarPlay.

For me it is a privacy thing.

If you have an iPhone and want the texts to be sent the Infotainment system, do this, go to...
>Settings
>Bluetooth
>Click on the circled i to the right of "Chevrolet MyLink"
>Make sure that the "Show Notifications" is turned on.
You can check or change this on your phone anytime, you don't have to be near the car. I believe that this defaults to "Off".



When Show Notifications is on, you'll get an announcement that you have a text and if you're not moving you can choose "Read" and it will show you the text message. If you are moving, then you'll have to choose "Listen" for the system to read it to you. If you don't want anyone to hear it or see it, just ignore the announcement and it will go away.

Thanks but this only works for chevy head units before 19. The tech guy at the dealership called GM they told him the new head units no longer do that. I complained he said yep so is everyone else.
