They're always part of the engineering team. They go to the 'Ring for research & development, and to get the most useful feedback about what the car is doing you pretty much need to have an engineer in the drivers seat.

The car is wicked on the track. Pretty damned impressive for the money. I'd like to know the weight difference between this car and one off the showroom.

I kind of expected something spectacular from the car, but that driver is really cool...like he has done that lap 100+ times...and probably has...great video

Al Oppenheiser has already stated that the 5th Gen Z/28 has run in the 7:20's.
Besides, the Z/28 looks better to boot.
