Tuner Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a tuner in the Tampa Bay area? I am working on putting my Whipple on and supporting mods, so will definitely need a tune afterwards.

Or, who can point me in the right direction to get started on using HP tuners myself?

Man I would not even play with HP tuners unless I had at least a years experience. You start playing with a cars fuel trim and you can easily blow the car up if you don’t know what you are doing. I would use google to look for good speed shops and pricing. But pay most attention to the reviews! Just my $0.02

You can data log, and send that to the remote tuners/ post up here. A lot of knowledgeable guys. Agree with driver…if you’re a novice, dont touch anything. Smal problem could be catastrophic.

Yup, in my opinion... tuning is an absolute work of art.
I can’t even begin to understand how that’s done. However, I did all the work on my engine myself. Car work is easy, tuning = a brain like Einstein.

Check out Phil at Tampa Tuning, he has done a few Camaro's from my area. He's pretty good from what I hear.

Phil is an honest guy too. I talked to him about my car years ago and he said I really should find someone local and do a dyno tune rather than just selling me the services he offered.

Jannetty Racing. They know those whipples like the back of their hand. Ted can remote tune.

Fasterproms is in the area there and I would HIGHLY recommend Jeremy. He did the first tune on my car before I moved away from where he tunes. If I still lived near where he tunes I would have another one of his tunes on my car in a heartbeat.

Check this website
https://goatropegarage.com/

And this youtube channel
https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCP_LcnBKwJqJOiGoCRT5SCw

He also does a live question and answer on YouTube 7pm on Thursdays

Don't check him out if your not serious about wanting to learn hptuners.

Tuning is an art but you can learn how to do it if you take your time and baby steps, a wide band is a must if your going to do actual Tuning.

Hptuners is personal favorite.

Jeremy also tuned my 2010 SS with an Edelbrock S/C on it. He also tuned my C6 Corvette. He did these tunes in PA, where he comes 2-3 times a year to tune LS motors.

Fabulous data, thank you all.

Next (possibly inexperienced) question is: I will be putting on a swath of mods at one time which, theoretically, will not be safe to run without a tune beforehand. What is the protocol here? If I bring it to a place, can I lightly drive the car with a new blower, injectors, fpcm, etc. or is this potentially a disaster? Flatbed over?

Re email tunes: I would need to purchase HP tuners equipment beforehand so that I can even load the file, correct? Or can these be sent and uploaded using plug and play type tuner, say a bullydog for example?

Flat bed it to the tuner , don't waste money on a programmer, the dyno tuner dont need that he uses a laptop
