Just watch out for power bills that can be 10k for 3 days. I liked TX the best out of all states i have been to.

LOL... I'm waiting for mine. We use very little power in the winter since everyone has gas heat. Being out of power "should" mean a lower bill.

The gas heat is delivered via furnace electric fan? And then lights, TV, computer? All electric consumption. Be ready to sit down. |

My electric bill is almost $500 in the summer and $125 in the winter. Huge difference. The recent electric shortage was from equipment freezing etc and not heavy useage. |

California people are flocking to Texas faster than we can tag them and send them back. Don't bring "california" to Texas. Come to Texas and experience Texas. We don't need California 2.0. Texas has its own culture and experience.

You're talking about something that has happened once in a generation. I've been here my entire life, my parent's have been here their entire lives and this was the only time this has happened. Do a little research before making posts like this.

You assumed wrong. the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, the nonprofit that operates Texas' electrical grid – as well as the unusual fact that Texas has its own electrical grid. You live there and did not know that? |

Please stay out of Wyoming as well. One of the last safe states for people to live cheaply in.
Irony is when people move from California because they are tired of the way the state is run and then move to Texas for example and vote for the exact same junk they just left. I do love the Pacific NW as well but have you seen Pikes Market Place lately? What a shame. Politics play a huge role in how things work out. Pay attention to the next few years. Do you already like your higher gas prices? |

Thanks for the warm welcome but I already have a ticket, see below.
Are you going to check my USPSA / NRA ID as well?

What I'm saying is that we've never had a weather event that has caused these issues in my lifetime and my parents lifetime. Thanks for highlighting those words for me though. I never would have made heads or tails of it otherwise. |

I bought an AR when I was in the Peoples Republic of NY. There the mag is clamped in place by by a cap screw thru the ejector button into the catch, then filled with epoxy. You had to load the 10 rd mag by opening the upper and loading mag from the top. I asked the dealer if it could be converted to free state compliant. His answer was yes, but not by you. I laughed. Another vendor at the show had the part I needed. 15 min after I was home it was fixed. All's good. I am in a free state now.
