Met and Music "legends"?

Should be ANY not and, sigh

Was on another forum and someone kind of brought it up...

I am an old dude from the 80s Thrash scene so I have met quite a few "legends" of music being they were usually in very small venues and often were out and about in the crowd.

Phil Rind, John Tardy and Andy Galeon. To name a very few, but ones that really stood out for me both as a musician and fan.

I was in the 80’s thrash scene in the Washington DC area. I saw a lot of bands and met a lot of the band members due to the small venues.

The first I remember was 1/13/85. Armored Saint, WASP, and Metallica playing near Baltimore. After the show we walked around to the back of the club where the busses were. We met John Bush from Armored Saint and he invited us all onto their bus. We drank with them for awhile. Then James Hetfield came out of the club and we hung out with him for awhile.

November 86 in Richmond we went to see Dark Angel and Megadeth. Dave Mustaine was just hanging around outside before the show so we hung out with him until the doors opened and we could get inside (it was maybe 15 degrees outside so while it was awesome to chat with Dave, we were freezing). Inside, we met Gene Hoglan. Really cool guy. After the Dark Angel set when the band was tossing guitar picks and stuff into the crowd, Gene came down and handed a drum stick directly to me (I was front row). I still have it.

There were plenty of others but those were the ones that stuck out the most.
