Axleback vs. Borla 2nd cat deletes + x-pipe/mid-pipe
I'm wanting to upgrade my exhaust to sound deeper and bassier. I had a 2011 WRX with an Invidia Q300 on it, when when you clutched in going to a stop light for example, and the revs came down it made this deep, mric, bassey tone as the RPM's settled back to idle.
My question is, between a full catback, axleback or adding an x-pipe/2nd cat delete combo - which will get me closest to that sound type that I has on my WRX? Final question, if I start with MBRP and want more later, can the Borla x-pipe, mid pipe combo thing fit up to it or would I need a Borla axle back? Here's what I'm looking at: Axleback - MBRP - https://www.phastekperformance.com/M...st-s7036al.htm X-pipe/2nd cat combo - https://www.phastekperformance.com/2...pipe-60606.htm |

It's a different engine configuration, you're not going to get that sort of sound out of a v8.

The LT1 is fairly raspy compared to other V8s like the 5.7 HEMIs.
For this particular V8, it's going to be pretty hard to get a deep sound similar to your old WRX. Listen to some sound clips on youtube. The Borla S-Type and the Stainless Works exhaust will probably be the 2 closest sounding exhausts to what you're looking for. |

Thanks guys, so I know that the sounds of an UEL boxer-4 will be vastly different than that of a NA LT1. I guess I'm asking is there are systems that sort of have that basey sounds at idle and when clutch goes in for a slow down - if that makes sense?

I have a full exhaust frs, and I have a stainless works axleback on my ss. The frs has some bass, more of a rumble, if that makes sense, the ss is more like deep bass. Has a lower tone to it, really surprised me, what a muffler can do for the ss. Kind of hard to explain, I love the that boxer sound, but you'll only get it from a boxer motor.

Based on personal experience the S type would be the closest match I found so far to a low tone rumble.

You won’t get the same exhaust tone like the one your WRX but I have kooks headers w/off road pipes and flowmaster axle back sounds deep at idle and has a really nice growl.

I think everyone on here is wrong about getting that "type" of tone... I think what you're looking for is an H pipe not an x pipe.
