Exactly....

Has nothing to do with the car. Defective nozzle would be the issue. Some gas stations don't test their nozzles unless someone complains about it.

Yes it happened at 2 different gas stations. I got the car a month and have one filled twice. The first time I thought maybe it was me. The second time my husband filled it and I asked me to make sure he followed instructions by the gas door. Same thing happened. My husband is an auto tech and said it could be a valve. He has seen new cars have this issue. Will keep you all posted, glad to hear others are not having this issue.

I have to say I have plenty of experience filling up gas I have had a 3rd gen, 4th gen, 5th gen and now 6th gen. I usually do it myself. And had different cars for driving daily never had this happen before. I think I know how to do this right. JK not really mad.

I'm just teasing. I am interested in hearing how this works out for you. I cringe at the thought of gasoline spilling on paint. Happens more than I'd like to admit when filling my motorcycle.

My husband was a tech for Kia and said that had a few new cars with a valve problem. It may be that. I am glad to see others are not having this issue. I guess it is Gforce and I dealing with this. I clean the paint very well after the spills because you are right gas on paint not good.

Maybe the only benefit of being in Jersey lol. Just nice to sit in a warm car, pay close to the cheapest for gas here, and have someone fill the tank that you don't have to tip. Can't really beat that when it is 20 degrees outside or 100.

On the other hand, I hope it is not an issue with some of the cars as they start it and walk away until it's done. Plan on using the Shell station by me. Think they do 7-10 cents off premium every Monday and Friday + 5 cents off per gallon with their card. Might look into it as that could add up over a few years.

I doubt it, sounds like there is something wrong with this one, the vette has had it for 3 years, same system, no problems...

but as I said above, try this before you take it in...it may be a stop gap until a tech can get to it.......

Well, if the nozzles are designed to auto shut when hole at end of nozzle is covered - with gasoline - then I wonder how it could be an issue in the car.

The fact though that it happened at two different stations seems like it would point to an issue in the car though.

hmmm...same company of gas stations? Maybe they got a bad batch of nozzles?

Maybe there's a gas troll that goes around and disables this feature on the pumps in your area

Just a thought but do these pumps have the coils on the nozzle? I have been to a few gas stations that I had to play a little with the nozzle because the coil was rubbing against something. It felt like it was in but a little jiggle and it went in further.

I'd rather do it myself to be honest. All it takes is one careless guy to make for a bad day. One benefit is the price though.

Who eventually has to pay the workers to pump your gas?
