Do you remember your 1st ride in a muscle car? (Watch the video!)

This is my grandson Trevor. He is demonstrating the newly discovered physics theorem known as "Trevor's Law of Grinification" (grin-i-fy-cation).

It states that the intensity/size of the grin is directly proportional to the increase in speed. Observe as our subject begins with wide-eyed anticipation and after being thrown back in the seat, a slight grin is noted that increases exponentially in size to the point of his eyes becoming almost completely shut as the vehicle speed increases:

https://youtu.be/69lPgb_yhpU

Attention potential haters- this video was shot by the front seat passenger, not the driver. No traffic laws were broken during this adventure as it was filmed on an interstate on-ramp up to but not exceeding the posted speed limit.

I like. Must be reflexive for you males. Still remember my first "spirited" ride in dad's Ford Fairlane back in the day.

Yeah, I'm 51 and still pretty much feel the same way as he does when I drive it! Just a little better at containing it (maybe)

Yes. I think it was the first time, or at least it was the first time I remember, a 1969 Camaro RS/SS 350 Z11. (Indy Pace Car).

And now I have owned 3 Camaro's from 3 generations(69, 02, 17), along with a 67 Firebird 400.

That's great.
I've laughed out loud on hard acceleration since I've gotten the Camaro. Very addictive.

I don't remember my first ride, as I was only a baby (dad used to put me to sleep in his '70 Camaro SS 454). I do remember my uncle's 1970 Nova (also a 454 car), and the intense feeling of speed at 6 years old.

Like BuckeyeROC, the bug really bit me when a friend bought a 1996 Camaro Z28 and gave me a ride. Within a year, I bought my 1999 Camaro SS.

HELL YES
The guy who lived across the street from my parents house on Long Island was a mopar freak and had a 1969 Charger Rt and I hung around his garage at night while he worked on peoples cars. One night he uncovered it and took me for a ride and I was hooked. Been going fast for the past 42 yrs that I could since that night.

In HS, i rode in the back of a '57 Bel Air, and while hitting 80mph on back roads, i remember looking down at the rough asphalt whizzing underneath my feet thru a hole in the floorboards.
Too bad that car was nothing more than a field-beater.

I was brought home from the hospital in a 1967 Camaro SS the year I was born, so been in my blood my entire life. Parents would ride me around in it to put me to sleep.!!!!! I have had other firebirds and camaros but the 2017 makes the connection for me.
So Dad has a different 1967 then his first one and I have my 2017SS so the fifty year connection between us and the cars just hits home.

First performance ride.

My dad had a used car lot in the 60's and 70's, so he was always bring home different cars. The one I remember most was a 1965 Dodge Monaco 413, 4 speed. Coming home from Sunday morning church, turning into our crescent, dad lit it up. So cool! The neighbor standing on his porch was not amused, and walked down to our house and says something like,"what the hell do you think this is, a race track!"My dad told him to mind his own business and go back standing on his porch! :-) .
Ever since been drinking gasoline.
