The most awesome V6 Camaro ever
Pie in the sky, if I hit the Powerball dream - what would it be like, how awesome would it be, and would it even be possible: drop a fully built LS4 twin turbo 3.6 V6 (from a Cadillac ATS-V) into my 2LT 1LE? Sure I could just buy an SS or ZL1 but it would be a completely unique and awesome ride. What do you guys think?
And more food for thought - why doesn't Chevy think about this as an option for the Camaro? People are doing amazing things with bolt-ons and tunes for the 4 banger - imagine what could be done with LF4. Last edited by jrah; 03-12-2020 at 07:36 PM. |

Unless I'm mistaken the LS4 was a 5.3L V8 front drive in Grand Prix GXP, Impala SS and a Buick. Mid 2000's. The Twin turbo 3.6 is an LF3.
You can still build a unique SS or ZL1 with more power for less. There ain't none like mine anywhere around here.

Its LF4. sounds intriguing though. Not sure about costing more I would think you could find one in the scrap yards if your gonna have it rebuilt. The lt1s and 4s are still new and cost alot. Lt5 alone is more $ than the camaro is new. The issue is really if you can register it on road or if it has to be a track only car. There's more to the picture than just dropping in an engine. If you want to get groceries.

If you win the powerball, you're better off giving me the money, I'll buy you a ZL1, give you enough to buy a pulley to solve your modding itch - and keep the rest of the change.

LF3 is the TT 3.6L used in the CTS and XTS.
LF4 is the "high performance" variant TT 3.6L used in the ATS-V. Both of these motors are old enough where parts can be found on eBay. I'm surprised no one has used the parts to turbo a Camaro. I thought about it, but I track my car a lot and NA is just less complicated. |

Build whatever you want. It's only money and there are some wicked TT V6's out in the world.
