I'm not a fan of this schedule. I'm very disappointed that Carolina Motorsports Park is off the schedule.

global time attack rules are dumb. Was interested till spec tire and limited size is on there. nope! :p
edit, time trial rules... no stock class lol. I know the scca is working on it but autocross and time trial classes don't work together. Could run my stock car but what would be the point? other than going out and having fun.

I have to run my car in freaking MAX 1 because it is a supercharged SS. If you want to talk about pointless, there's your definition. |

FWIW, I don't think the eLSD reflash from GM is supposed to be a benefit on most road courses. It's really targeted to autocross use as I understand it. So it would be believable that you didn't install it. Of course, if someone really wants to protest at a national autocross, then they can put up their money. But that's always going to be the case.

It might be a blessing in disguise. SCCA classing needs a lot of work, and their lack of rules enforcement is a real source of frustration. I believe the people organizing the events are well intentioned, but from a serious participant's perspective, there is a lot of room for improvement.

The rules and classing worked well under the concept of "Track Night with Transponders," but I agree that it doesn't translate to a solid competitive program with 15+ cars in certain classes with less than a tenth of a second between competitors. I also agree that having 150 pages of rules, but essentially self-enforcement isn't a good basis for fair competition. I enjoyed running a Time Trial with NASA SE a few weeks ago: 1. The classification by HP/Weight generated some good competition. 2. The drivers had a higher level of experience on average. 3. You can run Hoosiers, Goodyear 3R's, or slicks without being kicked into the unlimited class. 4. Curb weight was measured at least once a day and the certified dyno testing is an ok way to class. I'm sure if you wanted to "game" the dyno you could. Some of the cars were detuned for a flat power curve. 5. There were fewer drivers, which is a mixed deal, there were only four cars in TT2. 6. The Time Trial is a season with a winner for the class at the end of the season. Non-covid schedules have an event each month. 7. I didn't like that each day was it's own Time Trial with only the fastest lap counting each day. This made the afternoon sessions almost pointless. 8. The NASA people and SCCA people throw out incorrect stereotypes about the members. I think both groups are awesome people-wise.

@Badmojo did you have to go through the different HPDE levels in NASA and then a check out ride? Or were you able to jump right into TT by giving them a driver resume and your SCCA TT license?

Also it was a lot of fun, definitely recommend it. Anyway, I'm disappointed there aren't really any northeast tracks but I am planning to do VIR and maybe make it out to TT nats this year. Maybe consider doing one of the road atlanta's.

I used my SCCA Time Trials Advanced license and a reference to get a NASA Time Trial Provisional license. It takes four NASA TT's under the provisional license to get a permanent.
