My sister has a cabin in Murphy so I am lucky enough to spend a few days a month up there. Soooo many good roads! For your trip a good route that avoids backtracking is to take the Cherohala til it ends in Tellico Plains. Pick up 360 there (towards Ballplay) and follow it to 129 and the dragon. 360 is a beautiful and relatively unknown road that cuts through many farms and valleys. Not a super challenging road but fun and great scenery. You can run the dragon a few times then leave out down moonshiner's (hwy28) and stay on it for nearly a 100 miles. Fantastic road.

Also in the area is the Joyce Kilmer forest. It's a good place to stretch your legs and has some of the oldest and largest trees on the east coast. Worth a stop.

Great area. We spend a week up there once a year with a group of buddies with our cars and motorcycles. So many great roads, you can literally drive from gas tank to gas tank without hitting a light or stop sign..

Just amazing scenery, smooth pavement with awesome sweeping corners unlike the tight switch backs of the dragon it's easy to get a nice flow going. Way more fun. Been down there many weeks where i didnt go anywhere near the dragon and had all the fun i wanted.

I heard that's the one to hit if you don't do the dragon...Will try this year.

We're attending a Camaro event in May that'll do all those roads. We've done them countless times by motorcycle but this'll be the first time in the Camaro. Looking forward to it!

That rally is a blast! Going to be my 3rd time running with that group & they’re great grip of people! What group are you running in?

Final pieces of advice are tires and brake fluid..... If you think you can get one more trip out of the tires you currently have then go ahead and replace them before the trip because they won't last... i promise you will be half into your trip and cords will be showing... BTDT and it really sucks to be trying to find tires and get them mounted while on vacation in small mountain towns with limited selections available.

Try needing a Camaro sized ( and quality ) tire on a sunday - near Tellico Plains.
Not happening - you get to wait on delivery because everyone has truck tires up their ass, but very few bother with sizes we need.
