That was so awesome, saw that awhile back!

Or, offer to have an entirely new exhaust put in that will be much quieter and thank him for offering to pay for it! Problem solved!

A 7 year old crying over that?? I can see an infant but not at that age.

If you retained the NPP, then start it up in stealth with the garage door closed. Then after 20 or so seconds and the car exits cat-light-off-mode and calms down a bit, open the door. Makes a huge difference.

At the risk of blatant "Whataboutism" I'll take a stab.

It wouldn't surprise me if the complaining neighbor is one of those guys that hires others to cut his lawn, but accepts the sound of one of those zero-turn mowers that sounds like a turboprop plane at takeoff, followed by 30 minutes of blasting dust about with a two-strike engine backpack leaf blower.

A similar dynamic is the frowning soccer mom/"Karen" type who glares at the deep rumble of V8 muscle sedately traversing a residential street at 20 mph...yet turns into an aggressive road hog in her Honda Odyssey minivan, and flys down the same residential street at 40.

That video was okay but the guy doing it got on my nerves with his laughing at everything! These kind of car folks give a bad impression on the rest of us for which I think the reason the cops give most of us a hard time especially cruising or leaving car shows. At least that is my experience.
