What is the best sealant to use for the threaded fitting that connects to the drilled and tapped fuel tank hole?

Im ready to do this and i dont want any fuel leaks.

have not done that mod, but i have used GASOILA sealant and it has done well for me in fuel and oil sealant on NPT threads.

Per product info, GASOILA is only good up to 20% alcohol content. I would imagine you are installing the aux pump for e85, which is seldom below 50% alcohol.

During most of the year, E85 pumps sell fuel that is really E70.

Class 1 is summertime E85, and needs to have a minimum of 79 percent ethanol (so
even E85 doesn't have to be E85). Class 2's ethanol minimum is 74. And Class 3,
wintertime ethanol, is 70 percent. In some parts of the country, Wyoming, for
example, Class 3 is sold from October through May and Class 1 is sold only in July and
August.

E85 is a generic term, not an official government term.

The states have discretion as to how much (or how little) ethanol goes into fuels sold

within their borders, and actually only SEVEN require Ethanol in the fuel. Pumps here
in PA say 51% to 83%:

There have also been unsuccessful attempts to repeal ethanol mandates in four of the
states that currently have them--Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon, and Pennsylvania.

I run the E15 a lot, and I also pump 87 Octane in to full, after 6 gallons of E85, in both
my Camaro and my Mustang.

Tell that is stations around Las Vegas. In winter, we are lucky to get 60%, usually closer to 50%.

I have not used it in alcohol, only gas and oil applications.

The sealant that comes in the DSX kit is blue, and never dries. I'd say it's more important to make sure you're using the NPTF tap over the NPT, then having the sealant.

My builder says to use this on your fuel tank, he used it on mine a couple years ago. No leaks.

I was considering jb weld or some sort of epoxy. I mean the tank already has a hole in it and that's permanent so why use a sealer over some sort of permanent glue?

Maybe this is dumb to mention but I work for a construction company and our trucks sit onsite overnight. About 3 years ago someone drilled a 5/16 hole in a plastic 08 f250 tank so they could steal the fuel. To get it fixed and fast I tapped the hole for a 3/8-24 bolt and then I hillbilly jb welded it. Have never seen so much as a drip from it.
