You're welcome. If you look closely at the pics, there will be a spot or two you can't get a rivet through because the floor pan is too close to the tank.

Even if I dropped the tank from under, I was still going to cut an access. It only makes sense. If I need to upgrade again or there is a pump malfunction it can be easily resolved. Some of us do not have easy access to lifts. This is well documented procedure and if proper care is taken, there are no issues.

Probably shouldn't use a Sawzall for cutting the access panel. a cutting wheel and a little finesse would be good.

Needless to say the plastic fuel tank butts directly against the metal underbody of the car and not cutting through in to the fuel tank was pretty much unavoidable, including wiring that was sandwiched between the tank and the metal with zero space..

The cuts were filled, the wiring repaired and the zl1 fuel pump was installed, all is well but, do yourself a favor and don't attempt this route when changing fuel pumps... at least on a 2013 vert ss.

Air snips and the look up the old article where the guy shows you exactly where to cut..

I just did it with an 8x8. I don't think I could fit the pump through a 6x6.
