Would like owner's opinions...

Thanks to all that reply. I'm looking at 2 LT's for purchase. One is a '14 w/ 59k for $17500 and the other a '17 (4cyl) with 15k for $23500. I can afford the latter so I suppose the choice is obvious, but still would like some feedback. Performance isn't a high priority; I do like technology which I know is lacking on the '14. I guess my main question is for owners of the 4cyl and their general impressions. Also, the '17 is a California car and it has 2 red alerts on it's Autocheck. One is "state title brand reported" and the other is "lemon brand". Can anyone explain these? Once again, thanks!

Dude. Prices are outrageous.. you can get a 10 ss for between 10 and 15k.. the 6s and 4s even less.. keep shopping.. do yourself a favor.. dont cheap yourself out of a v8.. get an ss or better. These cars dont fall apart like chevys from the 90s.. it's ok to get one a little older.

Don't buy something with a title brand for full retail price which is what they are asking... I bought my 2011 with 12k miles for $20k last year. I suggest you look around for that deal. You can buy from an individual and still get a loan for it if you don't have the cash, I did. That is way too much money for either of those in my opinion, that's low mileage used SS 2010-13 money.

Thanks for the advice. I do have a trade so I'm almost pinned to buying from a dealer and I know that's going to cost money. Also, it'll be my daily driver and so therefore was not truly interested in a V8. Where I live, I know they're in high demand and so I guess it's a sellers market.....

Keep shopping. Make a list of the options and model that you want.

I owned a 2012 V6. I now have a V8. The gas mileage is not all that different. Not enough to where you can take extra vacations, put another kid thru college, all because of your prudent decision to go LT over SS. The car’s ride alone is way different in the SS. And if it’s a DD, that could have some appeal.

Just out curiosity, why the aversion to the V8? There are things beyond the two extra cylinders that make it a better car, IMO. I’m sure I could get a witness here.

Save yourself 5-10k and sell your car outright and don't buy from a dealer. Unless you are upside-down on your loan and can't pay it off, that makes it more difficult.

I would stay away from the 2017 just due to the red flags.

Is the 2014 a 1LT or a 2LT? If 2LT, price is a little high IMO. If it’s a 1LT, it’s way to high.

Without starting a V6 vs. V8 discussion (I hope), I have a 2014 2LT V6. There’s plenty of performance there as my daily driver. I use / enjoy the MyLink and Boston Acoustics audio, the heads up display, the leather interior, etc. daily. I like the way the RS package looks and like the HID headlights and halos.

I use the full capabilities of the V6 a couple times a month probably.

It’d be cool to have a V8 Camaro and maybe I will someday (?) but everyone has to decide how to spend their money. There’s enough performance with the V6 platform to satisfy me and I’d rather have some of the other things I mentioned above. To get a 2SS when I bought mine used in 2017 was another $8-10k. If I could wave a magic wand and make my car a 2SS, sure I’d do it in a heartbeat but the wand doesn’t work.

If nothing else, it seems that the V8 is a more dependable engine than the V6, judging by the problems that pop up on here. That may just be differences in who is buying/usage/ purchase #, but in my mind the non-direct engines are the way to go, even in the V8.

I've found a '14 2SS w/ 30k miles for $25. Fully loaded. I own my trade outright and have had it on cars.com and parked at the end of my driveway since spring. I guess no one is interested in it, a '12 fully loaded Mini coupe w/96k, excellent shape. I was offered $5100 as trade from one place on a '142 LT w/60k. I know Vroom/Carmax/Carvana wouldn't be much higher if they'd take it at all, (I know Vroom wouldn't), and I'd save 5.5% in taxes of the trade in value here in Wisconsin, so I'm thinking yes, trade it in. I doubt anyone will give me basically $5600 for it....
I'm not saying I wouldn't like a V8 and certainly there's more of them in my area that the 2LT V6's.....

If you're going V8, and don't mind driving stick every day (believe, these cars make it easy), get the LS3. You don't have to worry about AFM. Its been a hastle to many... others don't mind it... but read up on that and some of the issues that can cause.


My Camaro, though modded, is still easily a fun, daily, driver. I take it to work 2 days of the week most weeks. Have fun every bit of the way, even in heavy traffic in the IE with I-10, I-15, Hwy 91 (brutal)...


Love the V6... it is by far a great car! But man these LS3 V8's are a lot of fun... dependable for sure! I'm still running strong at 172.2k miles. Not to mention the bonus of that V8 rumble...


I have a V8 Camaro, I should have gotten a V6 Camaro... said no one I've ever been witness to...

Lots of good advice here. Don't buy branded title anything. If you think your current car is a tough sell, good luck selling a branded title. I just picked up a 10 RS with 44k miles for $8,800. Yes, the technology is lacking, but streams my music as I'm rowing through the gears.
Your money, buy what you want, but those prices you listed are ridiculous
