Cloyes offers a timing chain set:
Cloyes Engine Timing Chain Kits 9-0753S

From what I've been able to find, the latest AC Delco part has been upgraded.
ACDelco 12651450 Engine Timing Chain Kit

Member crit719 sent me the AC Delco kit. Let me know if you need it--N/C.

I know I saw it somewhere on the forums but I'd like to know the production date when they started using the upgraded chain.

Scrming (from post #17 this thread) seems to think 2011's may not be out of the woods either...

Well my 2010 2LT showed the P0008 code, 12/26/14 my 5 years are up. I have 62,000 miles and changed the oil every 4 to 5 thousand miles...well below the recommended. I was told at the dealer that when they opened the engine, if there was no sludge then the Warranty would apply. I should hear back today.

Ugh.... Do you live in a cold climate? Seems to me I've read that this issue is more common in cold weather states... Hoping to see some kind of pattern to these chain failures. Good luck, hope it works out.

Do not take that as your final answer if they say there is sludge.

My engine was randomly spun a bearing and is was found to be short a few quarts of oil(I check weekly and or every few hundred miles/fill up). This spun bearing caused air to all of a sudden be mixed in with oil. It created a foamy slimy substance. They tried telling me my mods did it. I said prove it I know my magnuson moss warranty act right, so prove it. Annoyed, they required of me, all of my oil change records and proof of oil change. I buy everything through amazon, I use mobil oil 1/oem ac delco filter. I reset the oil life monitor every 3k miles oil change. I gave them the records and they said they will call GM and have an oil analysis done. They did and it all checked out.

This is a known issue and dont let them pull one over. Escalate this up to GM if they dont help you out. Good luck.

Make sure you also let the dealer know that you have seen on this forum that this is a recognized issue. My car was six months over the warranty and 63k miles. I paid 440.00 for the work they did to work around my supercharger. I am pretty grateful to dealer and GM. Just have a positive attitude when you talk with them.

Just got mine back from the dealer for this issue. Got the P0008 code, first time dealer cleared it and said to come back if it came back. It did, two days later. Took it in and they took care of it under warranty. Even though I'm about month over the 5 years (delivered Jan 12, 2010). Car has about 125000km (about 78000 miles) on it.

They put on the ACDelco chain kit 12651450 which I think is the new one. The tech also mentioned TSB# 12-06-01-009E in the notes. Seems this is a newer version of the one mentioned a couple pages back and based on some other places I've looked seems to be updated to include all HF V6 engines now for all models. Seems to run fine but tomorrow will be the big test with 200km on the highway in the stupid cold we have now.

Glad to hear they took care of it under warranty. Hope it continues to run well & all is okay.
