‘16 Camaro SS 6M, HPA LT2.5 cam & HPA stg 2 heads

My car is a ‘16 Camaro 1SS 6M. Stock dyno, I made 392rwhp/394rwtq. Last year I completed round one of mods to my car. I took my car to HPA (HorsePowerAddicts) in Wilmington, DE for full bolt ons & E85.
- Kooks 1 7/8” headers with cat-less connections
- HPA ported factory intake manifold * Also BMR U&L trailing arms
- HPA ported factory throttle body * BMR U control arms & cradle lock out
- Roto-Fab dry filter CAI
- SMG flex fuel kit

On a relatively low ethanol content, the car made 462rwhp/462rwtq. That’s a 70rwhp and 68rwtq gain. The car drove and felt great.

This year it was time for round two of mods. Since everyone at HPA was so great, I wasn’t going to take it anywhere else. This time I wanted to go with cam & heads. I told Matt at HPA that I wanted an aggressive chop and good power, but I didn’t want to sacrifice drivability. I didn’t want cam surge in 6th gear at 60mph, I didn’t want to have to get into the throttle more to get off the clutch, and I didn’t want to have cam surge while ridding slowing through a parking lot. Matt strongly recommend HPA’s LT2.5 cam package and their Stg 2 heads, saying it would meet all my requirements. So I dropped the car off, and as always the crew at HPA was great to deal with.
- HPA LT2.5 cam kit
- HPA Stg 2 heads
- CHE trunnion upgrade kit
- Ported MSD intake manifold
- Ported LT5 95mm throttle body

This time around the ethanol content was around 78%, the car made 567rwhp/486rwtq. That’s a gain of 105rwhp/24rwtq. To my surprise, there was absolutely no loss in power down low. The chop sounds great, the car runs killer, and the car doesn’t have any of the potential issues I was concerned about.

One of the things I like most (other than the power and sound) is that now I can literally just let out the clutch from a stop and the car will starting moving. It is now the easiest manual car To drive that I have ever owned. My wife drove it today for the first time since doing the cam & heads. Even she says the clutch from a stop is almost effortless now.

I start in second gear. Easy start straight to 60mph before a shift.
Leave everything at the stop lights behind me 100ft.
